Dental Implants

What is a dental implant?

A "PERMANENT" SOLUTION FOR REPLACING MISSING TEETH!

Teeth can be lost for many reasons, but there is no reason why you should live without your teeth!

There are several solutions to replace one or more missing teeth. One is to use dental implants rather than partial or complete prostheses or crown bridges. Implants are comfortable and natural looking, they have become the norm nowadays for missing teeth and a permanent solution.

A dental implant is a titanium rod (screw), coated with a biocompatible material, which has the capacity to bind naturally to your existing bone.. It will then serve as a pillar and will support an artificial replacement tooth (crown), made on site in our laboratory, to hold the new tooth in place permanently.

Implants can help stop the loss of bone mass

Natural teeth stimulate your jawbone

When you lose a tooth, the bone around the missing tooth begins to reabsorb and atrophy. Over time, this can result in the loss of other teeth and the overall deterioration of your dental health.

When some or all your teeth are missing, your jawbone can experience significant atrophy, resulting in facial features that appear sunken. People who wear dentures often look older and less attractive because of this bone loss. Removable prostheses and dentures do not address the problem of bone loss in the area where teeth are missing and, worse, trigger the destruction of the bone.

Dental implants avoid bone loss caused by bridges and full or partial removable dentures. Because dental implants are anchored into the jawbone and do not rely on surrounding teeth, they perform naturally and maintain your jaw's natural bone. When a missing tooth is replaced with a dental implant, the fusion or osseointegration of the implant and bone provides the same stability as a natural tooth.

If you're missing all your teeth, dental implants will stimulate the bone, protect it against atrophy and help preserve your natural facial features.

Here are just some of the benefits associated with implants:

  • Dental Implants can be used to replace one or more teeth or even all your upper and lower teeth.
  • Implants are permanently fixed into place. They will not slip or click like dentures.
  • Implant teeth are the closest thing to natural teeth. They look, feel and function just like your natural teeth.
  • Dental implants allow you to eat all the foods you like, just like natural teeth.
  • Dental implants and your new teeth can be fixed without impacting other healthy teeth.
  • Dental implants are fixed into and fused with your jawbone. This not only provides stability, it also prevents bone loss and atrophy that can result from the loss of one or more teeth.
  • Dental implants provide a long-term solution to your dental problems.
  • Dental implants let you avoid the pain and embarrassment of dentures. There is no fear that they will slip or fall out, no need to avoid your favourite activities or foods and no wire or plastic in your mouth. Most people with dental implants feel better than when they wore dentures.
